UE concludes its 74th Founding Anniversary Celebration with its very own Concert for a Cause

On the 30th day of October, the UE SHS Student Council prepared a Concert for a Cause for this year’s month-long celebration of the University of the East’s 74th Founding Anniversary. Students and staff were invited to watch the event via FB live from the UE SHS Student Council Page at 2PM.

The concert features artists from warrior students and teachers to professional artists. The concert lineup consists of Angela Meg Milante, 5AM, John Arcenas, Justine Andrei Sugay, SyncIn, Tix Flores, and Professors Dustyne Dimaguila and Jai Anueco. All the guests performed and thrilled the audience. The comments of the FB Live were filled with the event’s official hashtag, #fUElingBrightFutures, along with the viewers’ enthusiasm.


At 4pm of the same day, the close ceremony program was also held in a separate FB Live found in the UE SHS Student Council Page after the concert. The awarding of the winners of the contests within the month followed suit. The winners for the respective competitions are as follows: For the Mobile Legends Tournament, the students from STL12-1P namely, Ramos, Juan Miguel V., Flores Luke D., De Guzman, Roy Edison C., De Guzman, Rodolfo Julian B., and Avellano, Charles Vincent N. were announced as winners. Secondly, Tamayo, Jieana Cristine from HUMSS11-3M won 1st place for the Essay Writing Competition. Next, Spoken Poetry was divided into two categories: Filipino and English. The winners are Tugay, Liyan Matthew R. from HUMSS11-1M and Manalo, Aira A. from HUMSS11-2M won the Filipino and English category, respectively. The event, Tanong sa Silangan was successfully won by the ABM11-3M. Subsequently, Lapurga, Victor Israel was declared the 1st place for the Digital Art Competition. Succeedingly, the Virtual Strand Cheer Winners were STE11-1M for the STEM strand, ABM11-1M and ABM11-4M for the ABM strand, HUMSS11-2M for the HUMSS strand, THE12-1M for the STIG strands, and finally, STE11-1M was declared as the overall winner.

To end the program, the UESHSSC President, Gabriel Berondo reflected on the conclusion of the founding anniversary celebration and Lei Danielle Pacalda, MICC’s Chairwoman, led the closing prayer. Lastly, Gabriel Berondo expressed their gratitude to those who helped for the success of the events and congratulated the winners as to officially conclude the commemoration.
